Course Description:

The patient in need of Implant Dentistry requires sufficient hard and soft tissue in order to achieve an aesthetic and functional result. Key grafting principles in maintaining and restoring hard and soft tissue as well as cutting edge grafting techniques and materials available will be reviewed. This course will also address which clinical conditions give the most predictable treatment result which is critical in patient communication. Understanding the biology of grafting is one of the many goals of the course program.

Presenter Biography:

With over 25 years of experience in Private Practice and in teaching specialized dentistry to dentists, Dr. Miles J. Yacker is an authority in the fields of Prosthodontics, Periodontics, and Implant Dentistry, and has trained dentists to become specialists at NYU College of Dentistry Advanced Education Programs for over two decades. He is dedicated to treating his patients with the highest level of care, addressing most of their dental needs under one roof. Aside from being a DDS, Dr. Yacker is one of the few doctors in America who is specialized in both Prosthodontics and Periodontics and is Board Certified in both. He currently serves as the course director for Implant Biological Basis course as well as Clinical Associate Professor at the Ashman Department of Post Graduate Periodontics and Implant dentistry at NYU College of Dentistry where he lectures and teaches weekly. Dr. Yacker also lectures nationally and internationally in over 50 venues on the integration of Prosthodontics, Periodontics, and Implant dentistry. Dr. Yacker is currently a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, Fellow of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics, Lecture coordinator of the Five Towns Interdisciplinary Study Group, member of the American Dental Association, past President of the Rockaway Dental Society. He has published in peer journals. Dr. Yacker has been interviewed by the radio station on dental topics including Oral Hygiene Aids, Implantology, Periodontal Treatment, cosmetics, and full mouth rehabilitation. He has videotaped the entire Dental Material Lab Course at NYU College of Dentistry. Additionally, he holds a patent for the Temperature Gauge for Dental Drills and Method Employing Same and similar patents in Medicine and Industry.
