Jennifer Kirschenbaum, Esq. is the managing partner of Kirschenbaum & Kirschenbaum, P.C.’s healthcare department.  Jennifer devotes her practice to assisting dentists and other healthcare professionals in all areas of practice, including employment, partnership and buy/sell agreements, vendor contracts, patient issues, insurer issues, employee disputes, regulatory compliance (HIPAA/OSHA) and Office of Professional Discipline matters.  K&K serves on the NYSDA legal panels, as well as MLMIC’s legal panel.

Presenter Biography:

Dr. Leon Klempner is the CEO of People & Practice LLC, an online marketing consultancy for dental professionals that builds the online credibility and reputation management for doctors through social media. Dr. Klempner represents dental practices throughout the US and Canada.  Dr. Klempner also serves on the executive board of the New York State Society of Orthodontists, is a board-certified orthodontist and has been in private practice for over 38 years. He graduated dental school from the University of Maryland and his received his certification in Orthodontics from Tufts University. Dr. Klempner is on the teaching faculty of two dental schools, and has lectured both nationally and internationally on the subject of social media marketing and clinical orthodontic treatment. His content has been published in the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics, the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and in both Orthodontic Products and OrthoTown magazines.

Presenter Biography:

As a Financial Advisor, Boyan works with new and existing clients on account implementations and portfolio management maintaining the target risk-return profile. He also helps clients understand recommendations and important financial decisions so that they stay on track to meet their financial goals. In addition, Boyan assists the investment committee by researching investment opportunities when market conditions change. Boyan also serves on the Young Professionals team specializing in financial planning and investment management for young dentists and young physicians. Prior to joining Altfest, Boyan was a portfolio analyst for Mark J. Snyder and Associates, an independent advisory firm in Long Island. He researched stocks, mutual funds and other managed investments while also helping guide the firm’s overall portfolio management strategy. Boyan also worked with clients on retirement planning and other long term financial goals. Boyan earned a BA in Economics and an MBA in Finance from Stony Brook University. He was president of the MBA Association and captain of the team representing the College of Business in the New York Society of Security Analysts investment research challenge where the team was ranked in the final four. Boyan holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations.

 

Kelly implements investment and financial planning strategies for clients to help them achieve their financial goals. In addition to supervising the financial planning associates on her team, she has a deep understanding of international bond investments which is an area she covers on the investment committee. Kelly is also part of the firm’s financial planning committee, which develops timely financial planning strategies to help clients. Kelly also serves on the Young Professionals team specializing in financial planning and investment management for young dentists and young physicians. Previously, Kelly worked as an Equity Research Analyst at Merrill Lynch, where she analyzed companies in the Business Services and Education sectors, which included maintaining financial models and publishing research reports. She received her Bachelor of Arts from UC Berkeley with high honors, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. Kelly graduated from Northwestern’s Financial Planning Program and is a CFP professional.

Presenter: Dr. Bijan Anvar

How social media and the dental society can help you be successful. Dr. Anvar will discuss options and strategies to help maximize your networking abilities. Dr. Anvar manages several Facebook pages for different organizations. He has helped many doctors create and build their Facebook pages and has lectured at several different dental schools as an ADA Success Program speaker.

 

Presenter Biography:

Dr. Bijan Anvar, the past-President of the Queens County Dental Society, has served in many positions within QCDS. In addition, he has also been president of the Institute for Continuing Dental Education and is also the immediate past-chair of the Council on Dental Practice for the New York State Dental Association, having been a member of that council for many years. Dr. Anvar has served as the QCDS EDPAC and Dental Practice chair, and sits on the NYSDA task force for information and technology. He is a graduate of the ADA’s prestigious Institute for Diversity in Leadership and is on the ADA committee for the Institute for Diversity in Leadership, with the goal of expanding the program. Dr. Anvar was instrumental in creating the New York Missions of Mercy event, which was held in 2014 in Albany, and co-chaired the committee that created this event. He also created the first New Dentist Conference in New York State. Dr. Anvar has lectured on oral cancer for QCDS, and has served as the QCDS Bulletin co-editor. He received his D.D.S. and graduated with honors in oral surgery from the New York University College of Dentistry. Most recently, Dr. Anvar has been accepted into the ADA’s Success Speaker Corps.
