Program Description:

This event will provide new residents / dentists with the practice management knowledge and training that is essential to operating a successful practice followed up by an evening casino night party that will include dinner, drinks, music, and casino games with hundreds of dollars in raffle prizes.

 

Course Title:  Starting a Practice vs. Buying a Practice. What’s Right for me? 

Presenters: Chad Widensky & Robert Malandruccolo 

Course Time: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM EST

Course Description:

This program educates dentists on what it takes to prepare themselves for practice ownership and provides information on what it takes to either purchase a practice or start one from scratch.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how early planning can lead to a successful practice
  • Determine whether to purchase an existing dental practice or start a new one
  • Understand practice financing options and develop a business plan

Presenter Biographies:

Chad Widensky is a Vice President for Practice Solutions, Bank of America’s healthcare financing division.  Chad joined Bank of America in 2009 as a financing specialist for dental practice and commercial real estate acquisitions in New York and New Jersey.  He has been involved in hundreds of transactions over the course of his tenure with Bank of America.  Chad has repeatedly been recognized for superior service and commitment to his work.  Most recently Chad was recognized as Practice Solutions Top Healthcare Lending Specialist for 2014 and 2015 and as a member of Bank of America’s 2014 and 2015 Pinnacle Club.

Robert joined the Practice Solutions line of business in March 2013 as an Area Manager covering New York and New Jersey.  In 2014 Robert was promoted to Vice President for Practice Solutions in the New York territory and services Dental clients seeking financing for projects, equipment, and commercial real estate. Prior to  his current position in Bank of America Practice Solutions, Robert enjoyed a 8  year career working in the dental market- working with the two largest dental companies in North America.

Course Description:

Jennifer Kirschenbaum manages Kirschenbaum & Kirschenbaum, P.C.’s healthcare department and regularly counsels healthcare practitioners in regulatory compliance, transactional, audit defense, licensure, litigation and general practice management matters.

 

 

Course Title:  Intro to Online Claims 

Presenter: Drs. James Kouzoukian & Hemali Ajmera

Course Description:

In our age of high overhead expenses, dental practices must operate more efficiently.  To that end, an introduction to the availability of Online Electronic Claim Submission to Insurance Companies, Labor Union and other Third Party Payers is being presented and discussed to speed payment and prior determination needs of practitioners.

Attendees will learn:

  1. What Online Electronic Claim Submission Services are Available;
  2. Which of Those Services are Free;
  3. How to Navigate the Available Services;
  4. How to Maximize Benefit to your Practice; and
  5. How to Maximize Benefit to your Patient. 

Presenter Biography:

Dr. James Kouzoukian is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry having received his DDS degree in 1984.  He has extensive experience as an expert witness in Dental-Legal matters, having worked with attorneys in such matters since 1987.  Dr. Kouzoukian has presented seminars on TMJ Dysfunction, Digital Imaging and Oral Hygiene and has completed a group of ten presentations for Aegis Communications for whom he lectured nationwide in 2014 and 2015.  He has recently presented a seminar on Digital Imaging, Diagnostics, Standard of Care Issues and HIPAA regulations at the 2016 World’s Fair of Dentistry presented by the Queens County Dental Society. Dr. Kouzoukian has also presented a live worldwide webinar on Digital Imaging and Standard of Care issues for Viva Learning in October, 2014.  Dr. Kouzoukian has had an article he authored on Electronic Communications and Records Sharing published in the May 2015 issue of the Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry.  He has previously been published in the April, 2014 issue of Inside Dentistry on the topic of Digital Radiography technology. Dr. Kouzoukian continues to be a major nationwide speaker on various topics in dentistry and he is pleased to copresent this new topic of Online Electronic Claim Submission for the Queens County Dental Society.
