Course Description:
After attending a lecture on medical emergencies, you feel like you’re ready to handle whatever comes your way. Or do you? Knowing what medications to have in your emergency drug kit is very different than knowing how to administer them. How many medications in your kit have you stared at and said, “I hope I never have to use this?” This one-hour long class reviews the indications, contraindications, side effects and pharmacokinetics of the medications that must be in your drug kit.
Course Objectives:
The hands-on portion will give you practice in dosing for adults and children, drawing medication from an ampule and vial, and administering intramuscular injections. You will also learn how to save hundreds of dollars every year in medications just by being able to perform these skills.
Presenter Biography:
Erik is a high school science teacher and veteran paramedic with over 20 years of experience working in the 911 system.
