Implants have become an integral part of everyday practice, but can we still save teeth? Are there alternatives to treat the failing dentition? This lecture aims to discuss the pros/cons of implant dentistry, as well as traditional treatment modalities (ie. Periodontics, prosthodontics & endodontics) that may be utilized to save natural teeth predictably.
- Definining “success” in implant dentistry
- Considerations on when to extract and when to treat
- Periodontal surgery, guided tissue regeneration, and semi-permanent stabilization
- Root amputation
- Endododontic surgery
- Comparisons and treatment considerations
Objective of this lecture is to review time-tested traditional modalities for the treatment of failing dentition. Participants who successfully complete this seminar will receive a certificate of completion and two (2) CE credits with the NYSDA Continuing Education Registry.
