Presenter Biography:
One of dentistry’s most respected clinicians and educators, Dr. Spear is the Founder and Director of Spear Education. His lectures, seminars and workshops have transformed how dentists approach dentistry today. In addition to his work with Spear Education, Dr. Spear is an affiliate professor of the graduate prosthodontics program at the University of Washington. He and Dr. Greggory Kinzer maintain a private practice in Seattle limited to esthetics and fixed prosthodontics. In addition to his faculty and practice responsibilities, Dr. Spear maintains a busy lecture schedule, presenting dental continuing education in North America, Europe and Asia. He has received several prestigious awards for his work, including the Christensen Award for Excellence in Restorative Education from the Chicago Dental Society, the Saul Schluger Memorial Award for Excellence in Diagnosis and Treatment Planning, as well as a special award for having advanced the art and science of cosmetic dentistry in the United States from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is also a Distinguished Alumnus at Pacific Lutheran University, his undergraduate alma mater. Dr. Spear’s memberships include the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, the American College of Prosthodontists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the International College of Dentists. He is also the former president of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. Dr. Spear earned his dental degree in 1979, and an M.S.D. in periodontal prosthodontics in 1982, both from the University of Washington.
